I heard a long time ago that everyone should have a theme song for their life. A song that expresses your essence and personality and affirms the place where you are in your life. At one time my theme song was “Ain’t no stopping us now” by McFadden and Whitehead. That song so clearly spoke to the way I felt about myself at that particular time in my life. I was just staring my entrepreneurial endeavors and I knew that there was nothing that could stop me!

Even though that song still speaks to me and will probably always be my life’s theme song I have adopted the principle of adopting a weekly (and sometimes daily) theme song. Because Monday is my favorite day of the week and I use it to set the tone for the rest of my week, I adopt a weekly theme song that reminds me of the kind of week I want to have and affirms the place where I AM. This weeks theme song is “I’m bad” by LL Cool J. I have quite a few projects that I’m working on and this song reminds me that I’m capable of completing them all! It reminds me that I’m a great mother to my children and a great consultant to my clients! It reminds me that I’m and expression of the Divine and that I can do all the things I set out to do! It reminds that, well, “I’m Bad!”

I encourage you to use Monday to set the tone for the kind of week you want to have. Pick a theme song that speaks to where you want to be this week whether you think you are there or not! Use that song to affirm YOU! Pick a song that speaks to your spirit and takes you to a place of bliss whenever you hear it! Play it over and over and whenever challenges present themselves this week play your theme song and remind yourself that you are capable of overcoming any challenge that comes your way!

Have a Magnificent Monday and remember to always Eat Your Dessert (enjoy your life) First because the issues of life will always be there!
