Monday Mantra-I Release The Story

Who would you be without the story that you have told yourself about yourself?

Something that we all need in life is to feel significant and valuable. The world doesn’t always give us that. Often, we use the circumstances of our lives to create stories about ourselves. So often, these are stories of overcoming. We luv a good overcoming story, don’t we?! Feeling like we’ve overcome life’s circumstances offers us feelings of significance, worth, and value that we desire.

If you’ve followed my writing for a while, you will remember that I strive to help readers understand that we are inherently valuable and significant, just as we are in all of our being. We don’t need a story to validate us.

I hope you will use today’s #MondayMantra to let go of any story about yourself that you may be holding on to. I hope that you will come to understand your inherent worth, value, and significance because you are all of these things just as you are.

National Women’s Health Week

“Communities and countries and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women.”
~Michelle Obama

May 10-16, 2020

It’s National Women’s Health Week and as we navigate the current times, we are mindful of the importance of our physical and mental health and the health of all of the women in our lives.

This is a great time to check-in with yourself to see how you are doing physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, and Spiritually and think about making any changes that you feel are necessary to be in optimal health in all areas of your life.

We are living in challenging times but we can minimize the stress of daily life as we know it by engaging in activities that bring us joy and happiness and offer us an opportunity for peace. The Office on Women’s Health offers a wealth of resources on women’s and girl’s health including a fact sheet and this handy “Find Your Health” tool to help you assess where you are with your health. Our blog Eat My Dessert First offers plenty of inspiring posts to guide you on your path to healthy self-worth and self-esteem including the Ebook “Daily Desserts to Inspire Self-Love“. There are also resources on financial education and budgeting to help you get your money right.

No matter where you are on your journey to optimal health know that you are supported. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself space to explore and grow. Nurture your body, mind, and Spirit and above all else give yourself all the luv and support you need to get through these times. Enjoy your journey!

LUV YOURSELF MONDAY

Magnificent Monday to you! Of course, by now, you all know that Monday is my favorite day of the week! I luv it because it’s the beginning of a brand new week and a chance to forgive any missteps we have experienced over the past week!

How are you starting your week off? I encourage you to begin by being good to yourself! Luv yourself! Tell yourself something good about yourself! So many of us go through our day with a negative attitude about ourselves. We tell our friends and co-workers how great they are, but we seldom express that same luv for ourselves.

So today, Monday, make it a point to be good to yourself! Find something wonderful about yourself and remind yourself of that fact all day today. Remind yourself of your goodness! Remind yourself of your intelligence! Remind yourself of your kindness to others! Remind yourself of your divinity! Remind yourself of your magnificence!

In luv and dessert,

Leisa Monique
